Discussions include projections for European economic outlook.
Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen met with Eurogroup members last week to discuss the United States’ perspective on current European economics. She was invited by Eurogroup’s President, Ireland’s Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe, to contribute her perspective on the matter, particularly in light of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
“The Secretary… stressed the importance of the price cap on Russian oil to stabilize energy markets and reduce revenues to Russia, highlighted the necessity of accelerating economic assistance to Ukraine, and encouraged continued progress on international tax reform,” the Treasury Department stated. “Throughout, Secretary Yellen emphasized her appreciation for Europe’s partnership with the United States on these joint priorities.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for the treasury secretary as she provides input on foreign economies.
- For Secretary Yellen to seek God’s direction regarding the economy of the United States.
- For the president and members of the National Economic Council as they determine the economic course of action for the U.S.
